Recently I’ve been craving a hamburger. Not one of those you can get from McDonald’s or even a restaurant, but one I could make on my own and add WHATEVER I wanted to it. Some years ago, I made some cheese stuffed burgers, but it didn’t turn out like I wanted it to. Why? One reason was because I put too much cheese and it was too big a piece to melt all the way while cooking. Another
reason was that I didn’t close the patties correctly. The end result? A messy burger with most of the cheese on the outside! This recipe is anything but messy. Delicious, juicy, and makes you want to make more? Yes. Check it out and I hope you like it.

Instructions
- In a bowl, use your hands to mix the ground beef, salt, pepper, cumin and thyme together.
- Once mixed, don’t over mix, separate ground beef into 2 equal portions (1/2 lb each)
- Separate the 1/2 lb portions into 2 even halves (you should have 4 equal portions, 1/4 lb.)
- Flatten each portion into equal sized patties.
- Add cheese, in a single layer, on one of the patties. I used both mozzarella cheese and goat cheese.
- Place another patty on top and close the seams by pinching the edges of the patties together until they are closed.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan or saute pan ( i used cast iron), on high heat.
- Place patties on the lightly oiled pan and cook on both sides for 8-10 minutes.
- Place on a hamburger bun, add condiments, and enjoy!
